This park was a natural habitat for the Florida Gopher Tortoise. The habitat setting was on a hilly mound covered in Florida sand with plantings that are natural to Florida and walking paths through the area. During heavy rains, sand was being washed out and the trails were difficult to maneuver. A product was needed that would stabilize the trail but not hinder the activities of the tortoise ability to move around in the habitat.
They excavated, laid the product down and brought in Florida shell and fines as fill for the Slopetame2. |
